    About Legacy Garden Media

Preserving the Culture. Documenting the Legacy.

Legacy Garden Media is a Hampton Roads-based media company dedicated to documenting, preserving, and celebrating the people, stories, and creative movements that shape our region.

While trends come and go, culture deserves a permanent record.

Our mission is to create that record through journalism, storytelling, digital media, video content, interviews, photography, and archival projects that capture the voices and moments often overlooked by traditional media.

We believe every artist, entrepreneur, creative, and community builder contributes to the story of Hampton Roads. Legacy Garden Media exists to make sure those stories are documented, shared, and preserved for future generations.

    What We Do

    Cultural Journalism

We tell the stories behind the artists, businesses, and individuals helping shape the region.

    Historical Documentation

We preserve important moments in Hampton Roads culture through articles, interviews, archives, and digital storytelling.

    Artist & Creative Features

From emerging talent to established names, we provide a platform for voices that deserve recognition.

    Video & Media Production

Through documentary-style content, interviews, performances, and original programming, we create media that serves both the present and the historical record.

The Live in the Garden Legacy

One of Legacy Garden Media's cornerstone projects is Live in the Garden, a performance platform that documented more than 150 artists from across Hampton Roads and generated over one million views during its original run.

What began as a performance series evolved into a cultural archive—capturing a unique era in regional music history and preserving performances that continue to resonate years later.

Today, Legacy Garden Media continues that mission through archive releases, artist profiles, long-form articles, and The Garden Era Magazine.

    Why Legacy Matters

    The internet moves fast.

Posts disappear. Platforms change. Memories fade.

But culture deserves more than temporary attention.

Legacy Garden Media was built on the belief that the stories shaping Hampton Roads today should still be accessible decades from now. By combining modern media with historical preservation, we aim to create a living archive of the region's creative community.

    Founded by J. Braye

Legacy Garden Media was founded by producer, entrepreneur, and Live in the Garden creator J. Braye.

After spending years working with artists through Radio Ready Recording Studios and helping build independent creative careers, Braye recognized a larger need: preserving the stories behind the work.

That vision became Legacy Garden Media—a platform focused not just on what's happening now, but on ensuring those moments are remembered long after they're gone.

    Our Mission

To preserve Hampton Roads culture through storytelling, documentation, and media that outlives the moment.

    Because stories fade.
    Legacies don't.
